Putin Demolishes Western Meme that Russia is Isolated

BRICS concluded a successful second day by approving the Kazan Summit Declaration. Here are the main points:

▫️BRICS countries called for strengthening the non-proliferation regime and nuclear-free zone in the Middle East;

▫️Stressed the need to resume the Iranian nuclear deal by all parties;

▫️Called for reform of the Bretton Woods institutions by increasing the contribution of developing countries to the world economy;

▫️BRICS will study the creation of a single transport platform to ensure multimodal logistics between the countries of association;

▫️Concerned about the escalation in the Middle East, condemned the Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy and the undermining of pagers in Lebanon;

▫️Welcome the creation of a new investment platform that uses the infrastructure of the New Development Bank;

▫️Advocated unconditional respect for the sovereignty of Syria and the protection of its territorial integrity;

▫️They support the initiative of the Russian Federation to create a Grain Exchange with coverage of other agricultural sectors in the future;

▫️Supported the adoption at the UN of the State of Palestine within the 1967 borders;

▫️Agreed to transform the New Development Bank into a multilateral development bank for emerging market countries.

Yet, the West continues to deny the implications of what is taking place in Kazan.

The following video provides an excellent summary of the second day:

On the Ukrainian front, Russia continues to advance while the Ukrainians retreat:

Russian forces have captured Izmailivka just west of Hirnyk.

Russian forces have expanded their area of control around Vuhledar in the direction of Bohoyavlenka.

Russian Armed Forces liberated the settlements of Serebryanka and Nikolaevka in the DPR.

Kupyansk, regional authorities: mandatory evacuation of all civilians. Ukrainian channels: In addition to the Kupyansk urban community, people will be evacuated from the Kondrashevskaya, Kurilovskaya and Petropavlovskaya communities, as well as the Borovskaya territorial community of the Izyumsky district.

Selidovo — At 20.00 Moscow time our assault units are in the city center. Part of the city, from the center to the Lozovaya micro district and exit to the np. Vishnevoe under the enemy. The central part near the embankment is a gray zone. In addition, in residential areas, there are still pockets of enemy presence in high-rise buildings and administrative buildings. The enemy is not surrendering, fiercely fighting. Each house is an assault.

Assault on Selidovo

US officials are having a tough time delivering a coherent, rational message on the state of the Russian military. On the one hand, they insist that Russia must be stopped or it will invade and conquer the rest of Europe, i.e., the Russian military is powerful. But they also are pushing the nonsensical meme that North Korean troops are fighting alongside the Russians because the Russians are so weakened by their attacks on Ukraine that the Russian military needs a helping hand from Pyongyang. Okay, which is it? The Russians are a mighty army that will take over Europe or they are so battered and weakened that they need an assist from 10,000 North Koreans? I call bullshit on both.

The following video is an example of one of the dramatic changes in social media that have taken place since the 2020 election. In 2020, social media podcasts were relatively scarce and played little role in the election. Political operatives — Republicans and Democrats — focused financial resources on cable news and the mainstream media. During the past four years, however, podcasts on YouTube, TikTok, X and other channels have attracted a far larger, broader audience than the legacy media. Joe Rogan, for example, has almost 18 million subscribers. The combined audiences of Fox News, CNN and MSNBC are a fraction of that. It appears that people who are younger than 50 are getting most of their news from these podcasts and are ignoring the legacy media.

Here’s my chat with Danny of Capital Cosm.
